Dougal and
Bilfur have a promising feeling, that a thorough search of the room could potentially turn up many items of value. Without even trying very hard,
Bilfur finds a turquoise worth 10gp, on the ground next to a buckle-less leather belt. But before the search can begin in earnest...
SURPRISE!!
A funny-looking creature ambushes the party from the south, attacking the rear of the marching order. It looks like some kind of weird armadillo-kittycat-platypus-arthopod hybrid. It sniffs the air hungrily and targets
Wilbur with its two whiplike antennae. The odd thing is, there's not a lot of force to the blows; it just seems like it's trying to lightly tap or graze Wilbur on his chainmail hauberk.
Fortunately, Wilbur is able to leap back and dodge the antennae!
Undeterred, the
rust monster regroups for another attack. It is fast-moving and seems
very hungry.
Surprise wears off. Prepare for Round 1! Please declare your combat intentions?
Party has no chance to surprise due to their lantern.
