Willie's cheerful round face settles into grim determination, and he blows out a sigh between the gaps in his teeth -- gaps created by the Goat-Thing. His eyes are alight with uncharacteristic anger.
"We pummel it till it stops stalking us!"

Our heroes fire a volley of stones into the darkness. Dame Simonetta hears her shot connect with a thud, and then a scurrying sound racing along the cavern ceiling toward the northwest (in the direction of the crevasse).
Our heroes fire off another volley of sling stones, a few of which are halfway-decent shots. But there is no further sound of the spider-goat. You suspect it might have retreated to the crevasse area. As an ambush predator, it would not be its style to charge into missile fire.
The latest gamma version of the rules for Hobbets states, "every two shots loosed count as three," which I interpret to mean they get 2 shots every 2nd round, for a 3:2 rate of fire.
