Re: The Seventh Adventure

Beppo was just about to follow Robur into the water when -- EEP!

As soon as he recovered his wits, he unsheathed his dagger, leaned in, and tried to slice the now-gelatinous water. His hope was that Robur could be cut free...

"Great turnips! Robur, what are you --"

When Willie sees what is happening to Robur he grabs a rope, ties his war-hammer to the end of it, and tosses it into the pool -- aiming for it to sink near Robur but not brain him. He hopes that the trapped Hobbet has the presence of mind to grab the rope when it appears near him.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Wilbur comes up to help with the rope, or to help dig, whichever seems more likely to succeed.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Gelatinous Cube Battle - Round 1

Beppo and Dame Simonetta try to dig down to Robur, but it's weird: The jelly jiggles out of the way and dodges their blades!!

Meanwhile in an attempt to rescue Robur, Willie ties his war-hammer to the rope and drops it like an anchor. To his surprise, he feels a sharp tug on the rope that pulls him off his feet and into the pool with a slurping sound!

Robur and Willie are pinned in gelatin and will take ongoing suffocation/digestion damage unless they are freed! The blob violently heaves and sloshes from side to side, like it is trying to pull itself up out of the well and attack the party. The other Hobbets I haven't mentioned yet, do you wish to modify your Round 1 actions, now that the true nature of the threat is revealed?
Beppo cuts with his dagger, to hit 1d20=2, miss
Dame Simonetta helps, let's assume she uses her sword, to hit 1d20=2, miss

Cube vs. Willie 1d20=18, hit
Willie save vs. Paralysis 1d20=1, ouch

Robur takes 1d6=4 damage, dropping him to 3/7hp.
Willie takes 1d6=1 damage, dropping him to 11/12hp.

DM rules that the others (Kiplyn, Wilbur, Bilfur, Dougal, Noh) still have time to act on Round 1 as they adapt to the changing situation.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Dougal's Myth increases 1 point from 2 to 3.

Dame Simonetta's Myth increases 1 point from 2 to 3.

It's also worth mentioning that Dame Simonetta's owl medallion has gone silent. It's no longer emitting the pleasant tingle.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

"How-how is this thing moving and evading my dagger?" Beppo complained in frustration, then went back to trying to stab the crazy gelatinous ex-water thing.
