"Thanks Willie. It's a pleasure to meet you too Kiplyn," replies Robur finally smiling for the first time in a while. "Yes, I'm glad were all safe out of that horrible mess. Nothing can stop us hobbits on a full stomach!"

He did ask someone near him, though, about the side passages they were ignoring. "These lead to caves you've already explored?"
Noh shrugs uncomfortably in answer, "I am not sure really, I figure to just follow along and observe." Then turns quietly to everyone else, "This is Carc," he says giving the Raven a scratch, "and I am Noh. We are here to check out the interesting flora, and hopefully some worthy fauna. Also to get used to more civilized ways... which has not been too difficult."

"Hello Carc!" says Robur a little surprised. "I'm Robur."

"How interesting Noh!" continues Robur smiling dreamily about mead. "I am looking for delicious ingredients for my family's mead business, and exotic flowers would add a lovely flavoring aroma... Of course I'm mostly here for an adventure too. One I already will never forget..."

Beppo deferred from introducing himself, for now, unsure of if introductions would go in order of seniority or not.

He did ask someone near him, though, about the side passages they were ignoring. "These lead to caves you've already explored?"

"Yes," Dame Simonetta replies, "This level is almost fully explored. We're heading now to the place we last were before we returned to the Pancake House."

She proceeds to lead the way to area 32, as suggested by Willie.
(OOC: I just noticed the map actually shows two areas labelled "32", we're heading for the south-eastern one. I don't believe we've entered the western one.)

Re: The Seventh Adventure

OOC: Whoops! I'm re-doing the map as we go, so I'll fix that problem with two room 32's. Sorry about that. Understood, that you are talking about the eastern room 32 (not the western room 32).

Whenever I run a campaign, I always re-number the rooms on the map, because I think telling the players the actual, published room numbers can give 'spoilers.' Like for example if the party has found rooms 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, then that is a potential 'spoiler' that they missed a secret room between 3 and 5.

The downside of course, is that it's easy for me to make mistakes like this!

Re: The Seventh Adventure

I DM 1e for my friends from HS every other Saturday (doing a bunch of JG and old TSR modules, they are in S4 now) and I like to leave stuff like that in... or futz with it and add apparent spoilers. So much fun! :D

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Rat Race

Let's make a reaction roll for the rat colony as a whole: 2d6=8. Kind of neutral.

The rats do not interfere as the party leaves area 10 heading toward area 32. Small groups of rats are constantly wandering in and out of the lantern light, but they do not act aggressively, and never approach more than 25-30'. These are normal-sized rats. They don't appear to be spider rats, or zombie rats, or anything special.

Onward to area 32. But first, a little map grooming. Next update coming tomorrow probably. Feel free to chatter amongst yourselves.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Turns 11-12-13

Leaving area 10, the party travels south, past the rat cracks, and through a 'corkscrew' in the tunnel, losing elevation. The party passes the tunnel leading south to Dungeon Level 2. They arrive at area 32 and pass the secret door to area 33 (the spider cult HQ).

Leaving area 32, our heroes enter unexplored territory. To the north they find a boring, empty dead-end (area 37).

Heading west, they enter area 38. There is a large wooden chest in the middle of the room. There is an exit headed south (one might assume toward an unexplored area 39).

An unguarded treasure chest? Who knew adventuring could be so easy! How will you approach?

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Dame Simonetta, after pausing to look up towards the ceiling, if she sees nothing unusual will cautiously enter the chamber but keep to the left/south wall. She will only proceed as far as she needs to in order to look down the south passage.
