If Dorgan had a vote (and a STR greater than 3), he'd second this notion.coffee wrote:But if they were hit hard enough, they'd be too dead to fight back...
Just a thought.
Indeed! Magical fire is potent, even against magical items!sully wrote: My only worry about scouring the pit with fire is what valuables you'll destroy in the process.
My two cents on the "turning" question...mgtremaine wrote:My 2cents I always allowed the turning but if the undead were then attacked or backed into a situation without escape they would turn and attack as if the turning was broken. It's bad enough when the cleric gets to destroy undead but the holding them at bay while the party kills them gets old.
This and this, all day long...sully wrote:Folks, we seem to be "stuck" a bit at the current decision making juncture. The debate appears to be about killing the remaining shadows vs. getting out of the hole.
I hate to sound like the greedy mercenary (well, not entirely true, I should be ashamed but I'm not) but we really should be finishing off these shadows and searching the remains.
From a metagaming point of view, this is a great chance for the party to get some gold and probably some magic items.
From my PC's perspective, Dorgan would really like to make sure no one else suffers the same fate he and Dieter almost suffered.
Not to mention, there's XP just sitting there, waiting for someone to take it! Ways is sitting at home, somewhere in Australia, shaking his head and wondering what he needs to do to get us to win some treasure. He keeps putting it in front of us and we keep walking away...
Uh, aren't you the guy who saw Dieter and Dorgan fall into a pit and walked away while the others worked frantically to save us?mushgnome wrote:Why wouldn't finding the lost and presumably wounded/dying party members be our top priority? I'm a little flabbergasted we are scumming for XP and treasure without solving the mystery of what happened to Desmond and Gustave.
hehe... er, um....mushgnome wrote: (edit) On the other hand, if Desmond's player is telling us "go for it!" then that is a valuable piece of meta-game information.
