Coln

"Good thinking. These wizards always have some sort o' secret door around..."

Re: 04 - Ruin in the Moor

Alrik is merely looking at this point. If he finds a book or scroll of some sort, he will try to deduce its purpose, but he won't open any jars or disturb anything.

Re: 04 - Ruin in the Moor

Coln

Suddenly turns around and looks at the roast pig. Making sure that it isn't bad, he then rips a large leg off and hands it to Aurora.

To Hagwen: "She's going to make more noise anyway if we don't give it to her and that might alert someone."

"That contraption makes a good roast pig... wonder if I could take it with me...."

Re: 04 - Ruin in the Moor

So the party continues to to look around the laboratory with Rhegaerstanding guard in the Archway.

Alrik's search turns up a half crumbled scroll on one of the tables. He gently smoothes it out and is greeted by a fine flowing script with wild loops and generous affectations, he peers at it trying to make any sense of what he sees.

eAsp:roll 1d6
mgt's roll comes to 4 [4 on 1d6]
Alrik has seen something like this before he thinks it script of Chaos but he knows not that language.

Phadian searches the room for secret doors after retrieving the lamp.... But fails to find anything.

Hagwen moves carefully around the room looking for traps or signs of dangers.

Coln wanders up tot eh roasting pig and gives Aurora a bit of a leg. It's probably almost done, the leg is certainly cooked and a little too hot for Aurora to chow down on so she keeps tentatively licking it...

eAsp:roll 1d6
mgt's roll comes to 1 [1 on 1d6] -- Somthing happens

eAsp:roll 1d6
mgt's roll comes to 5 [5 on 1d6] - Rhegaer rolls surpirse
eAsp:roll 1d6
mgt's roll comes to 2 [2 on 1d6] - Other thing rolls Surpirse

Rhegaer sees a strange sight coming up the corridor from the south, it looks like a Gnoll carrying a great barrel with both hands from which peers around every so often to find his way.

Alrik puts the scroll in one of his belt pouches and draws his dagger.

"Hsst! Beware, something approaches!" Alrik whispers.

Hagwen

Pivoting smoothly and moving silently as a ghost, Hagwen moves up to stand at Rhegaer's side, arrow set on string.

Re: 04 - Ruin in the Moor

Surprise Round 1:

The party scatters into position as best they can. The Gnoll lumbers thru the Archway and puts the barrel on the floor with a grunt. As straigtens up he sees the some of the party but by then it is too late. Missile attacks are launched at the first opportunity...

All attacks get an additional +2 to hit

Rhegaer
eAsp:roll 1d20 + 2 +1
mgt's roll comes to 12 [9 on 1d20 + 2 +1]

Hagwen
eAsp:roll 1d20 + 2 +1
mgt's roll comes to 16 [13 on 1d20 + 2 +1]

Coln
eAsp:roll 1d20 + 2 +1
mgt's roll comes to 20 [17 on 1d20 + 2 +1]

Phadian
eAsp:roll 1d20 + 1
mgt's roll comes to 3 [2 on 1d20 + 1]

Alrik
eAsp:roll 1d20 + 1
mgt's roll comes to 17 [16 on 1d20 + 1]

Everyone aims true except Phadian, perhaps his injury makes his slingling arm cast wide....
eAsp:roll 4d6
mgt's roll comes to 20 [6 5 4 5 on 4d6] - DEAD

The gnoll has only a moment of time to express his surprise, in the form of challenging roar, as the volley of missiles ended his live.

Even as he falls Rhegaer and Hagwen who are closest to the Archway spot another figure just on the edge of light, he is robed in Black, Human in size, his hands are free.
