Phadian

Phadian looks in horror at the crumpled body of Hagwen. Switches to staff, moves toward the Ogre, looking for an opening to finish him.

"Hagwen shall be avenged, die foul beast."

Alrik thinks better of throwing his dagger and stays back. He moves to help Hagwen, then realizes she is dead and stops, watching the scene unfold...

Coln

Coln, who was looking in shock at Hagwen's body, suddenly notices something strange.. He has no time to contemplate (ooc: as much as one with 7 intelligence can contemplate something) it, for the Ogre is on the rampage. He drops his crossbow, draws his short sword and goes in with Phadian.

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

Round 7

Actions - After the fall of Hagwen the Rhegaer, Coln and Phadian rush to to Urist's side in hopes of bringing down the wounded Ogre.

Rhegaer Attacks savagely
mgt's roll comes to 18 [18 on 1d20] - HIT
mgt's roll comes to 6 [5 on 1d6 +1] - KILLED

BATTLE OVER...

Results: As Urists readied himself for a brutal melee Rhegaer came rushes in possessed of battle fury, with a single blow he split the Ogre chest open wide. Rhegaer continues to hack at the dead ogre for several moments as the the others look on in amazement.

The Ogre is dead, but so is Hagwen.... Curiously Alrik notices right way that Hagwen appears to be an Elf Madien in death. Her face is beautiful and peaceful. What magics are at work he does not know, but clearly there was a story here.....

Rhegaer chops into the dead ogre until he cannot lift his arm anymore. After a few seconds, he catches his breath and retrieves his axe from the ogre's skull, where it is currently lodged. He spits on the corpse in disgust, then walks over to Hagwen's body and stands over it for a moment. It takes him about half a minute to realize she has changed.

"Eh? Who's this, then? Where's Hagwen?"

Phadian

Phadian looks in sadness at Hagwen, then looks down at his own wounds and slumps against a wall. "Shoul, be a good lad and fetch out the waterskin. I need to clean out this wound before I bind it."

As Phadian works to clean and bind his wound he looks sternly at the group. "We can't continue to rush about like this. If I had been given time to fully treat her wounds she may have been able to sustain that shot. Although I am the only one with wounds currently I am out of healing magics, and I suspect Alrik is out of spells. We would not survive another such attack without them. I suggest we retreat from the caves till we can be at full strength again."

Almost out of habit, Rhegaer looks around for anything of value in the cave. If he can find nothing in this room, he checks out the area the ogre came from.

"Hagwen, no!" cries Urist. He gives the already-dead Ogre a good smash with his hammer. It is a futile gesture but all he can offer by way of revenge.

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

"It must have been some kind of curse," Alrik says, still stunned at what happened, staring at the beautiful Elf maiden before him.

Then he snaps back into focus. "Phadian is right, we need to rest. Quickly now, le'ts get moving. Rik, help me with Hagwen." Alrik moves to lay out and cover Hagwen's body, then helps Rhegaer search the other bodies before moving out.

Phadian

After patching his wound Phadian seems a bit more alert. Phadian moves over to Hagwen's body, takes her hand, and says a few words to ease her passing to the afterlife. "Indeed there was some magics at work that her true form now reveals, I have prayed to my god that she may pass peacefully to the other side. She was harsh in her words, but true in her thoughts and deeds. She will be sorely missed."
