Ulric looks at the concierge and nods at his announcement.waysoftheearth wrote:"The library isn't open to the public until the hour before noon," sneers the crabby old fellow triumphantly as the bizarre trio reach his desk.
"'Tis but a rumor, good man. 'Tis but a rumor. Well, not that you aren't allowed - the laurel I mean. If there's a way in, it is unknown to me. Perhaps, however, there is a way to ask them to come out here."tonneau wrote:"Sisters of Mercy you say", Gustave echoes, his brow shooting up, "Well indeed I could not postulate a more apt means of improving my health if I were a sage in a mountain cave", he adds with a hearty grin.
"But access is problematic you say. Still we must find a way...", he continues, scratching at his chin.
"...and Laurel leaves...", he mutters, now deep in thought, "I wonder if they chafe..."
"Come, my friend, we will deal with these issues as one."sulldawga wrote:"Sir Pelenwin," Dorgan continues, "could ya introduce me to another of your priest friends? I'd like ta describe the crypt we was lookin' at out there and see what they know of it."
"Um, yes." Olaf repeats at the Snork.waysoftheearth wrote:Olaf & Dieter; The Crumenal
Inside, Olaf sees the narrow premises is neat and clean. A small bell on the back of the door tinkles as he enters and two thick-necked lads dressed in ridiculously tight formal shirts with starched cuffs and collars and bright brassy buttons look up from their formal chairs, but make no move. These are apparently "the help", although neither offer to help the fighting-Men with their burdens.
Behind a small counter at the far end of the narrow room an impeccably dressed, balding and bespectacled Goblin observes Dieter and Olaf carefully as they approach. Re-evaluating their net worth with every pace.
"Yyyyess?" inquires the Snork.
Highbough glowers at the concierge as the money changes hands. Something is wrong with this town; goblins running banks and venerable Elves turned away from the library.danhem wrote:Ulric looks at the concierge and nods at his announcement.waysoftheearth wrote:"The library isn't open to the public until the hour before noon," sneers the crabby old fellow triumphantly as the bizarre trio reach his desk.
"I see, I see. But surely the rule is not completely arbitrary? My colleagues and I are eager to pursue our studies. Your library is well known and quite impressive. Perhaps two shillings each would allow us to enter a little earlier than the general public?"
