The door opens on to a 30' high by 40' wide room. The elevator takes up the square in the South East corner. The door opens to the north. Four gigantic insect-men as high as the room, with chitinous-skin and large mandibles, armed with huge scythes, look at you hungrily with their 6-eyed heads. They are gathered, spaced out, near and around the elevator door. You can see an exit door behind them in the north wall

Franklin steps forward and to the side (so he isn't in line-of-fire for color spray, and the party isn't bunched up in the elevator) and starts swinging his magic sword.

Balbo and Drogo don't leave the elevator unless they see the bug-men are distracted, disabled or badly wounded.

Aldbane waits to see what happens with the spell, but will follow Franklin out after that.

Rhod will also wait until the spell goes off, and then engage in melee (if there are any left to fight).

The colors startle the monsters, and two of them fall over, unconscious. Franklin and Aldbane wound one of the monsters in their rush, and Rhod wounds the other. The monsters' return strikes miss

Actions?
Saving Throws: 7, 20, 11, 14 - 2 of them fail
Initiative: Party 3, Monsters 1
Franklin and Aldbane attack: 9/18
- Franklin hits because of his magic sword, doing 3 damage
- Aldbane hits doing 4 damage
Rhod vs other monster, rolls 12 - hits for 4 damage

Monster 1 vs Aldbane (easier to see than Franklin), rolls 8 - miss
Monster 2 vs Rhod, rolls 8 - miss

Maloof will attempt to safely move around the perimeter towards the door, if there is room to do so. His goal is to keep out of the present melee, but he will backstab anything which comes through the door. If he doesn't think he can safely make it past the insect-men, he will instead remain inside the elevator.
