Re: (04) The Cathedral

All right Team.... you've expertly schemed your way to the heart of the cathedral without resorting to the blunt trauma of combat. Answers now lie ahead of you, not behind. What next?

Thanis says, Presumably, our quest leads us underground so I suggest we follow the corridor and ignore the daylit chamber.

Re: (04) The Cathedral

Thanis leads the party down the passageway. As they pass the daylit archway, it is impossible to not notice the cathedral Transept beyond the arch... and the semi-circle of ruinous, broken, and/or defiled sarcophagi stationed below the tall, blasted out window spaces. Obviously, the engineering team still has a lot of work to clean up in there!

The party passes a second archway leading into the same Transept, before reaching a left-hand turn in the passage. Thanis peeks around the corner to see that the passage goes ahead some 50-60ft before turning right. Just around the corner, Thanis seems daylight spilling into the passage; presumably from a similar Transept, opposite. Halfway down the passageway are a pair of doors, one on either side of the corridor.
If this were a campaign game, the party would be dallying in the corridor debating what to do next, and I would check for wandering monsters.

However, in the interest of pushing into the un-tested parts of the scenario, I will assume Thanis' suggestion implies he takes affirmative action in that direction...

What now?

Thanis says, Let's proceed to those doors and listen at them.

Garamon will watch both ways down the passageway to keep things safe while folks listen at the door.

Re: (04) The Cathedral

Thanis proceeds carefully halfway down the passage, while Garamon watches his back and the rest hold their position at the corner.

The wall, and door, to his left would--judging simply from its position--have to be the base of the cathedral tower. The door is stout indeed with several iron reinforcements. Thanis doesn't hear anything beyond it, but does detect a faintly unpleasant odour, like... the smell of garbage piled up in a back alley. The opposite door, he surmises, must lead to the very back of the cathedral. This door is a lot newer, and of lighter construction; probably been replaced by the workcrew. Again, all is quiet beyond...
The ref throws a couple of listening dice... clatter clatter...

Goldwen wrinkles her nose and frowns, "What's that stench? Ugh... let's get this over with."

She braces her shield and readies her mace, but holds her position towards the back of the group...

I remember it is 3 dimensional and rather cool but I do not remember specific and I shall refrain from looking. Time to explore ...
