It looks like it will need finger dexterity

Maloof trusts to his new magical plate armour, and attempts to open the chest while wearing his gauntlets (but still standing as much to the side as possible).

He safely opens the chest, to reveal a pile of gold coins, at leas a thousand of them

I think we're still doing quite well on resources (spells, hitpoints)? If so, I'd vote for continuing to explore this area near the elevator. But I'm OK with it if everyone votes to head up now.

Actually that's right, I noticed Aldbane does not get the big bump to his spells until 6th level. So I'd be fine waiting and continuing to explore here also.
