Franklin falls into battle order, but is ready to scout ahead when called upon. Out of childhood superstition, he regularly glances up at the ceiling to check for piercers, spiders, or slimes; this will be his standard operating procedure from now on. Sconces is trained to alert his master with a low growl, but not to bark loudly, if he smells anything suspicious.

You head down about 15 feet, then the stairs turn and double back, headed north and down again about 15 feet. At the foot of the stairs it opens into a room that looks about 30 x 40 with corridors leading off, pillars and statues (full description later when you guys have time to look). Five fighting men, dressed like the two you just left, are ranged in the middle of the room.

"What are we going to do? Pay up again or force our way through? As I cannot afford to pay, I vote for the latter. Either way Vesh and his henchmen prepare for either eventuality, Vesh asks his porter to hold onto the magic staff as he grips his fighting staff in both hands.

Vesh will accompany Wiglaff to give him aid if needed [as in if he doesn't strike down his opponent he'll strike at him (the opponent) in turn or at another ruffian if they try to overwhelm Wiglaff & Mona will watch our backs]. "You'll get yours you bloody curs. Have at ye", says Vesh grimly, his scared face a mask of rage.

Mona slaps the flat of her sword against her shield psyching herself up for battle.

Marco puts himself before Young Aiden and defend the porter while the others battle the brigands.

Wiglaff looses an arrow at the talky one. He is unarmored at this time, and will stay out of the melee if possible.
