Wen tried to barge a wolf, but his 1+2 HD didn't give him much chance versus a 4 HD enemy; still if Desmond and he had worked together in the overbearing attempt, their dice would have been combined! Something for this turn maybe?

Re: Out Of Character

Missed the entry at the end. Sorry I thought I read the thread very carefully but I guess not. I'm sort of hoping Desmond kills it, rather have it dead then just off the roof.

Added: Seeing my odds of overbearing (1d6+2 > 4d6), I knew my gut feeling on the tactic was correct. :) Glad Josiane pulled it off.

Losing the element of surprise was unfortunate. But that's all history now.

Hey, I hadn't even thought of that! If someone had brought along a decent-sized mirror, well, that could get really interesting :D Laser beams unexpectedly flying everywhere; superb! Precisely what would have happened if this were an action/adventure movie.
I wonder if glittering mithril would have a similar effect?

Re: Out Of Character

Armando might wang a vial of acid at the Tar Fiend's eyeball next round with his sling, unless someone suggests a better idea ... ? He could also pile in on the werewolf that Wen and Desmond are engaged with.

Re: Out Of Character

The DM has taken pains to subtly recommend to us not directly confronting the tar demon.

I think we need to start thinking "outside the box" when it comes to the tar demon. In a straight up fight, we're going to have multiple party deaths even if we win the battle. And that's not even considering the werewolves that still remain in the fight.

Anyone that can help fight a werewolf should do that first, in my opinion.

I would recommend limiting any confrontation with the tar demon to distracting it, or going inside and looking for a way to close the portal from which it emerged.

Re: Out Of Character

Smart thinking, but it might not hurt (us) to see if the acid can take out that wretched eye?

But beyond that I absolutely concur - find a way to shut it down or withdraw sharpish! :o

Re: Out Of Character

I think I've gotten thoroughly confused, so Olaf is going to follow <EDIT Sister's> Dieter's lead. However, having said that I'm in favor or going after a werewolf, asap.

Re: Out Of Character

If it's any consolation, Tonneau, Josiane would be positively distraught if she could see The Gustave's current predicament!

But I think there's walls/bell towers etc. in the way...

Re: Out Of Character

We could use Olaf on the other side of the wall, to relieve Beringar. But there's no clear way over there, as best I can see.

I guess if you could drop down into the courtyard and skirt the wall without inhaling any of the tar fumes, you could head toward Beringar and try to climb back up; or you could go into the Chapel and look for a way to close the portal.

Or you could hold your breath and attack* the Tar Demon directly!
