For each whole town-day spent studying and coaxing the device, Ulric has 2 in 6 chance of divining one of its secrets. If he had access to adequate reference material (such as the fully stocked library below the Traders Concourse in Ket), it would be 4 in 6.

The Elvish quartermaster examines the hoard suspiciously, but eventually states he will give you 20 sp (or 10 portions of waybread) in exchange for the lot. He reckons the elves could melt most of the metal down for re-use, keep the books as curious, but would discard the rest.

The Sisters of Mercy might pay four times this sum, for most of it is more valuable to them than to anyone else.

"I think the sisters might pay more for the mundane. We should just split it up between us to carry."

He turns to the magical items... "Unfortunately, it seems a lot of the magical stuff is geared towards those of the priestly inclined. Like only Joine is going to benefit from them. We should determine what we might be willing t retun to thm in exchange for our equipment and Olaf's healing. I think we should keep the bowl, for example. Anyone can use it and it would be most helpful. The staff might be useful, as well. Especially considering some of us appear to have parasitic issues..."

If nobody else has any interest in it, Desmond would throw in for the fabled Lentive Demitasse--a Cup of Healing. At the very least, it seems like something we should keep that would do better in the hands of someone who wasn't a standard party healer. So we get our hands on a few vials of holy water and we suddenly have a second healer in the group.

Anyone can use the rosary beads also... they just need to incant the appropriate prayer and believe whole-heartedly in its worth!

Looking somewhat glum as the Orb and Tome are passed along to those who might make use of them, Armando turns to examine the mundane items. The two tiny daggers and the two brooch pins catch his eye — just how tiny are those daggers?

And one of the brooch pins certainly suits his fancy; now he just needs a new cloak to wear it with. Perhaps he'll have a chat later with that quartermaster ...

"Ha ha! There can be no debts between comrades", Gustave replies, "At least, nothing that can't be settled over a good pipe. Err...if I may?", he adds, raising a hopeful brow as the dwarf lets fly with yet another plume of sweet-smelling blue smoke.

Beringar didn't know Rufus, but his passing, and subsequent funeral, has brought much anger to his heart. What manner of cowards would kill someone barely taller than a child? Snorks, that's who.
If given the opportunity, he'll talk with his newfound friends about exacting some bloody revenge upon that scum. Preferably soon, too!

Wen would frown at the Quartermasters offer, "I think it best we hold on to these items. Their value here is much less then the value of returning them to the Sisters, even just morally. We have enough coin for now to repair our equipment and perhaps pen a scroll of some other such use. What else do we really need."

Wen would cast many a glance at the Queerious Speculem, but he would not dare challenge Uric right to such a thing. As the rosary beads seem to be a bit esoteric for most Wen would volunteer to carry them and keep them safe until such a time as we contact the Sisters and learn which items are those they sought.

"All very good ideas!" Olaf nods, "Our mission isn't over until we can report back to the Sisters and return their artifacts, but until we do, we might as well make use of them. Especially, if the use aids in their cause."
