Wen wandered off without his staff, satisfied that it is in good hands. On the threshold of the secret room he listens intently to Gustave and makes way for the Fighter to exit the room.

"What do you think about this enchantment wise Ulric, do you think it is keyed to accept adherants of the faith or just a general ban on entry.?"

Wen continues to study the threshold.

The Infirmary

Olaf takes a slug of Dorgan's heady brew. It burns in his throat manfully, then settles in his belly like a hot stone. For a moment he fears he might be sick, but it soon passes, and a warm calm fills him from his belly outward...

Olaf recovers d6=1 just the 1 hit point, perhaps this stuff is only good for dwarves? If Olaf should take another slug, he'll get the best individual benefit of the multiple rolls rather than the sum, however, he'll risk being overcome by the strong stuff...

Then Josiane will finish ministering to Olaf's wounds, trusting to Invisible Highbough to keep watch...

"That weren't so bad!" Olaf says and then burps, "I think I'll have another swig of this juice."

Olaf takes one more swallow of Drogan's draft...and hopes for the best.

Re: (052) Reckoning the Abbey

The Reliquary

Gustave and his buldging pack exit the small store without further incident.

The passageway immediately outside is crowded with blind halflings, their guide in Armando, and also Wen who is examining the portal with some interest. Gustave has to shove and elbow his way past all these persons in the tight confines of the passage, reciting his communique as he does so, in order to reach the ivory lit reliquary proper, when in he can speak with Ulric, who is bent double examining the gnarled old piece of drift wood upon the floor that stung Gustave's paw so.

Wen can see there are tiny letters cut into the stone work around the doorway, though they seem nothing more than the usual religious babble of Men...

Given Gustave's account of proceedings Ulric doesn't doubt that the driftwood staff is an object of power, though exactly what it might be eludes him. He doesn't recall anything of its type from his long studies...

The Infirmary

Very well...

Emboldened by his successes Olaf takes another draft from Dorgan's flask, and once again it burns in his belly like dragon fire!

Olaf recovers d6=5 5 hit points (so another 4), and saves versus poison d20=18 successfully.

The room spins about him for a moment, and Olaf also falls flat on his face, but Dorgan is there to hold him firmly up... "Steady on lad, that'll do ya I think,"

"Well, really..!" :x

Seeing her careful ministrations count for nought as Olaf swigs dwarf grog and bites mat, Josiane gives up with a slighted sigh and goes to the aid of the sightless hobbits...

Highbough invisibly chuckles to himself as Olaf is overcome by the potent Dwarfish brew. He continues to stand guard at the door. Do his keen ears detect anything unusual? Are there any windows, keyholes, or cracks that he can catch a glimpse of what is going on outside?

Olaf is not being the most cooperative patient... instead of resting he keeps "doing stuff" :)

Highbough's sharp ears have detected nothing untoward going on in the passage. He could possibly have the door ajar and peer out through a tiny crack between the door and the wall, but even his eyes won't see anything in the dark outside...
