Josiane drops to her knees in exhaustion and disbelief and, leaning on her sword, offers up a brief but immensely heartfelt prayer of thanks that the horror lies slain and Dieter still lives!

Once done, she rises and turns to her companions.

"We should find our friends as swifly as we may and then withdraw. The very Hells have been opened in this place and we are already badly weakened. If we continue as we are, losses are inevitable."

She moves swiftly to Dieter's side.

"Permit me, my friend," she says gently as, with water and the power of prayer, she applies The Supplication of Medicant Requite(/color) to the Ogre-Slayer's bloody, smoking wounds.

O.O.C: As folk are binding wounds anyway, I think it makes sense to cast the spell now, especially as Dieter's down to 1hp! As long as we've got people on the watch for anymore nasty playmates...

Okay, so as I have it, Dieter will first take a swing of Dorgan's brew, then he, Desmond and Dorgan will rest up for a turn, while Josiane conjures saintly aid for Dieter's swift recuperation.

Meanwhile, Wen will go looking for the monster's nest.

ooc: sounds about right... I'm guessing the candles we lit are still going also. I don;t want to mistaking ly leave range of the Lambent I left over Dieter. so...

Before Wen leaves the range of the The Eerie Lambent he would glance back to make sure there is enough light for the group, if not he'll go back and hand off his torch then have all three candles with him as he looks for other threats and possibly a nest. Wen would be on high alert, straining his Elven senses, in order to not be surprised. Candles leading in hopes of distracting and exposing any threat.

So be it.

Wen finds his sight returning to normal as the power of the Leer expires. He shrugs, and directs one of the two remains candles to hover over Josiane's head, and the over to hover ahead of him as moves deeper into the library in search of whatever awful nest the Grell may have had...

The others sit themselves down to dress their wounds. Dieter takes a swig of Dorgan's dwarf-brew... and almost chokes on the fiery stuff as he swallows. Baal's Hole the stuff is potent enough to pickle a horse! It burns the hole way down, but eventually infuses Dieter with an all over warmth and sense of well-being {1d6=4} and he regains 4 hit points {back up to 5}.

Then Josiane beings her medicant prayer over Dieter while Dorgan and Desmond/Mondes rest...

Wen goes a few score paces into the library, navigating between the myriad burned out shelves before he comes, once more, to the broad, hexagonal-shaped open shaft that descends three or four more levels into the earth. The depths of the library.

He can just see, by his sharp Elvish eyes, an enormous pile of burned out trash at the bottom -- perhaps 40ft below. The might be bodies in the pile too... it might be the perfect nest for a monster such as the one just encountered?

To get down there, it seems one could traverse the entire spiral at a gentle slope, walking round and round and round to eventually arrive at the bottom. It would be a lengthy walk that might take 10 minutes.

Wen would pause. After a moment of reflection he would give a small laugh as if making an impulsive decision. He would summon the floating candle from the party to him, slowly so it is obvious it is leaving. Make it circle a few times before leaving, hopefully they have enough light for their resting. While the other candle catches up he would draw forth a few real candles and light one from his torch. He would place it near the edge of the open shaft as a marker. He would then make his way down the spiral leaving a lit candle every so often to mark the way. We would be cautious and move as quietly as possible listening for any signs of danger. With one floating candle a good deal infront of him. He would be all to ready to run if their seems to be anything alive in this cursed ruins of a library.

(By my count I have 8 candles left and 4 unused torches. If I pass any sconces I would place a torch as well.)
