OOC I've never heard of mushroom mead, and unfortunately found on the Internet that it exists as "magic mushroom" mead. That is not what Robur really wants. I was more inspired by this because I have seen a mushroom tea which is made from regular mushrooms, and took this as my inspiration.

I have my doubts that mushrooms contain enough sugar for fermentation. They're mostly water and proteins. You'd probably have to start with mead or fruit wine as the base, then infuse it with the mushrooms for flavor. Mushroom and wine flavors go well together (for example in a pasta sauce) so it could work, why not?
Funny story, my childhood dungeon master's family belonged to the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon), a religion that forbids alcohol. His mom used to yell down the stairs to us while we were playing, "You'd better not be pretending to drink imaginary mead at the imaginary tavern!"
