Re: (053) Moonshine

"MURPHY!"

Gentle Josiane is on her tired, starving feet as soon as Wen imparts his news, but is too late to prevent Dieter despatching the poor mule. :(

She is relieved to see the poor beast is not in fact her four-footed friend, but kneels and offers up a prayer for it just the same.

This doesn't stop her falling to ravenously with the rest of the company afterwards, however.

She will attempt to examine the recovered artefacts to see if she can discern any enchantment about them that might help the party in their current parlous plight.

Wen would return to wake the sleepers and tell them of the unexpected and somewhat mournful bounty. H would also gather up the roots and such the mice recovered . "A balanced diet is important"

En-route to the camp, Wen encounters a dazed-looking Gustave who, still partially wrapped in silk bedding, trudges down the hill with wide, glazed eyes. He ignores the elf, but Wen hears him muttering a breathy "meat...i smell meat...meat...", as he drifts by.

Hopefully The Gustave is leading the blind bi-noggin'd hobbit to the meal, yes?

Alas, The Gustave is currently absent; his body is currently under control of The Stomach, and this powerful organ has no concern for blinded half-pint demi-humans (except, perhaps with respect to their apt size for a rotisserie).

Wen would do his best to help the hobbits down to the roast site.

Torben

Torben wearily assists Wen helping the hobbits navigate their way.

Re: (053) Moonshine

Highbough offers to trade the dwarf his share of the mule for an extra helping of the root/tuber soup. At his age and metabolic level, he can survive quite a long time on a plain vegetable diet.

Re: (053) Moonshine

Dorgan will thank Highbough but he wants his share of the soup. He's worried that stuffing himself full of meat after not eating for so long will be traumatic to his digestive system, and he wants the soup to help soften the blow. Even with his iron-clad Dwarven stomach (16 CON), he's not taking any chances...

"Besides," Dorgan says, "we're only a day away from Ket! Soon this'll be nuttin' but a bad memory."

Re: (053) Moonshine

Highbough is ever-so-slightly impressed by Dorgan's decision. "Smart lad, eats his vegetables," he thinks (though he will not give the dwarf the satisfaction of giving the compliment out loud).

He watches with mute disgust as the hungry men slobber over the mule carcass. He only takes a few scraps for himself, to supplement his primarily vegetable meal, but it should be noted, Highbough does not balk at eating offal, eyeballs, marrow etc. (the elves of his day used every part of the animal).
