Dorgan jumps up at the sight of Gustave.

"Dumathoin be praised! I was just wonderin' what sorta trouble ye be brewin' without me ta keep ya in line. Figured I'd find ya in the wine cellar or somethin'."

A look of concern passes over the dwarf's face.

"Are our friends in trouble now? We seem ta have... umm, misplaced our wizard."

Josiane flinches at the sound of the door flying open, but focuses on completing the healing ritual, trusting in the Saint to shield her from attack...

Relief washes over her as the mellifluous voice of The Gustave rings out.

"Well met in an evil place, my friend," she says, rising to her feet and attempting to wipe the sweat of her recent trials from her face.

"How goes it with the rest of the company?" she asks anxiously; "Are all well? Have you seen aught of Lord Olaf? Ah - and Lord..." - she adds hurriedly - "Um... (Oh dear; on the tip of my tongue: ancient, elvish, prone to moody silences and premature looting...) HIGHBOUGH! Yes, Lord Highbough. He's - very important too."

She blushes somewhat, an unusually flustered and vaguely guilty look on her face.

"And what talk is this of... daemons?" she adds at last.

Gustave listens humbly to Josiannes befuddled speech - no doubt she is somewhat flustered by being once again in his presence.

"We gained the main hall after besting some beasts for not loss, but therein were set upon by a creature of ash and fire", he elaborates, "I was forced to make a strategic withdrawal through the door that lead me here, while I have a suspicion that I saw others leaving hastily via a window out of the corner of my eye. We may circle around and meet the others outside perhaps, or we can return the way I have come in strength."

"Alas my friend", he continues, casting an eye of mock lament at Dorgan, "I fear the sisters kept little wine - we have found only tar and ash."

Dorgan nods at Gustave's description of the situation.

"Sounds like folks are in a good spot fer now, aside from the lack o' good drink in this place. Let's get Wen and meet up outside with the others. Might be good ta have everyone together afore we fight that ash golem."

Before they set out to search for Wen, Dorgan will pull out the Marrowstone and hook Mads Axe of Lycanthrope Slaying on his belt. Assuming they get to the bottom of the stairs without incident, Dorgan will again search for treasure using the Stone.

Josiane's embarrassment thickens as she gradually recognizes a brooding presence that has been skulking about invisibly for who knows how long now.

"Olaf and I cleared the rooftops and bell-tower, and set a rope in case we need to escape that way," speaks Invisible Highbough. "That thing back at the tar pit didn't chase us, like it was set to guard that one spot. I doubt it has much free will."

At the sound of Highbough's voice Josiane considers allowing the earth to open and swallow her, but, remembering their current location, she considers that might not be an altogether-wise idea.

But then a thought strikes her.

"And where is Lord Olaf now?" she asks, turning to the ancient elf, an increasingly-judgemental gleam in her grey eyes; "Is he injured? Thuul Almighty, say not that you thought it fit to leave him alone in this hellish place?"

"Er... weakened by his curse as he is," she adds hastily...

Gustave and Highbough make themselves known up in the main library while, downstairs, Wen cautiously pokes around in the burnt out refuse heap.

Highbough briefly hears something that might be an Owl hooting... but in a library? Perhaps he is hearing things now?

Meanwhile, nothing stirs in the nest, so Wen proceeds to investigate... it is a gruesome chore indeed. There must be at least a score of bodies dumped here -- it's impossible to tell in their burned and broken state. The Grell could have been gnawing upon their bones for weeks or more. It is a horrid sight.

Still, ever the treasure hunter, the young Elf does not fail to note the glimmer of silver here and there. Whatever possessions these unfortunates carried came with them to their graves; here there is a silver Enigma, there a beautiful letter opener, there again is a plain copper ring upon a gnarly finger. What more might remain hidden in the awful pile is anyone's guess.

Wen would be methodical about the gathering, he would try not to get too messy but sometimes in life there is a lot of blood. Each item, coin and trinket he'd gather he would place in the bag. He would look up every so often waiting for an extra set of hands or three to arrive.

Hmm... Didn't I give the signal? Wen hopes the others are still up there. After another 4 or 5 minutes he'd give his Owl hoot again.
