Nailus will follow the group decision here, so will let Maloof and Aldbane go to the door, but follow close enough to support them.

Are the doors all symmetrically located?

Are the doors on the left hand side, the right hand side, or directly forward?

I missed this question. The 10' sections end at a door, so the doors are straight ahead, in both cases

(To clarify, I imagine Franklin & Co are following Maloof, but hugging the right-hand wall, steering clear of the balrog trap. Perhaps they are moving in single-file formation.)

Maloof hears nothing at the door

Maloof whispers to his companions to watch the sphere as he carefully searches for traps around the door. If he finds none, he will open it.

The door opens onto a 10' corridor that ends in another door

Maloof is still a bit suspicious about that weird mousetrap. He searches for traps as he slowly proceeds down the corridor towards the other door.

If there are any traps, they are not obvious to MAloof

Maloof next listens at the door, and if he hears nothing he opens it.

As Maloof opens the door, the huge spring on the mousetrap in the last room comes down, smashing the glass sphere. A huge black blob spills out of it.

The door Maloof opened opens on to a 20x20 room, with the extra 10 feet to the west of the door. There is a door on the west wall, top 10'. Three gargoyles crouch on 5’high pedestals, the pedestals in the SW corner, middle of the north wall, and middle of the east wall. In the middle of the room is a gleaming sword stuck in an anvil

Aldbane digs an oil flask out of his pack and raises it, ready to throw on the ground in front of he and Maloof. "Quickly, with us!" he yells at the rest of the party.

Aldbane will wait to see what the rest of the party does, and which way the blob moves, before throwing the oil.
