Even Mondes is seemingly cowed as his counterpart rants over useless weapons and mutters something about wishing he had Highbough's spear, if just for a moment...

After gritting his teeth in anger once more, he shouts, "But I don't have his spear, so it looks like this torch is going to have to do!" as if everyone else had heard the first part of his personal dialog of mutterings.

With nothing else to do, he puts his silver whistle back in his mouth and begins blowing furiously, hoping to irritate the wolfmen enough that they're not able to concentrate on fighting.

Mondes sighs in relief as the other head shuts up for a bit...

Desmond/Mondes blasts upon his whistle furiously while the hack and clang of weapons, and swearing and howling continues.

Dieter scores what would be a fatal blow to a Man -- but these things aren't Men, and his foe fights on, scratching our hero in reply. Josiane and her opponent seem evenly matched -- though it seems to shake its head madly at some unseen irritation -- and neither overtly harms the other in the exchange of attacks.

Wen keeps an eye on the passage behind... but there is no sign of the wolves returning. Yet.

Dorgan notes with some satisfaction that the party are slowly gaining ground... they've pushed the wolfmen back 10ft or so.

Desmond/Mondes has 9/15 hit points.
Josiane has 12/12 hit points.

{Desmond's whistle just saved Josiane from two hits!

Dieter is quick, but can't land a telling blow, but his opponent does -- dealing him yet another scratch for 1. The other wolfman narrowly misses Josiane (saved by the whistle a third time!) before she delivers a telling series of blows and righteous verses, culminating in a crushing axe blow between the eyes, for a total of 11 hit points. The wolfman gives a whimper and drops dead.

Dorgan continues to watch the rear.

A single, wounded wolfman remains. What now?
