Looking over at the new man in the group he says, "Guntram, while we're waiting for the others to get back, have you got any exciting tales about your adventures you'd care to share?"
"I've had a simple life, working as a hand for old Sturla, the gamekeeper at Ser Falco's manor near Maine," Guntrum begins. "I set out for a life of adventure, since the pay was not near enough to raise a family or to help my folks. That was only just more than a month ago.

I did have a run in with one Gregoire. Sour sort of git, and not good at cards. I let him put a bag of beans up as a bet since he was short. He claimed they were magic. I know naught about that, but agreed as we were deep in the game, and there was no sense calling it off. When I won, he accused me of being a cheat, which I don't take kindly to. I've never a dishonest bone in my body. He shouted and raved and then he pushed me. One thing led to another, and I bust his nose. Anyhow, all his fuss over losing made me think the beans might be worth something after all. Had to leave the town quickly after that, and haven't thought about how to work 'em. Hopefully they are at least good eating!"

"Thank'ee kindly, Wibert. I see you and the lot seem to be rather good at it!"

Guntrum looks back down the road, hoping Ulric returns soon with that cart.

"Magic beans, eh?" Olaf's eyebrows raise, "Huh! Well, you might want to try planting one and see what grows from it?"

The tall young man adds with a chuckle, "I do think I'd hold off on eating them til I know more about em though...might sprout and grow a beanstalk in your gullet for all you know."

"There's an old saying that 'Two heads are better than one." Olaf says musingly, "I guess we'll find out now how true that is, eh?"

Dieter, Gustave and Koch stride beneath the gate arch and into Ket at last! They find themselves standing upon the muddy, uneven cobbles of Main Street, which all at once seems familiar and different.

The trio have been absent for the better part of two weeks, and in that time the season seems to have turned from winter to the beginnings of spring. The streets are not so water logged, and green shoots are gathering in every crack and corner. The same kind of folk seem to be getting about the same kind of business, but they amble now rather than huddling against to cold.

And lo! There not a city block away stands Master Albert's Plough and Furrow. The very inn you have frequented several times in the past. Your mouths water involuntarily at the memory of his last breakfast spread!

What now?

Ulric and Victor are still searching in vain for Hubert's farm.

"Well, well, the Plough..." says Gustave, almost drooling in temptation, the itching in his clothing and hair suddenly overwhelmed by an itching in his belly.

"I think perhaps we should make some...ah, inquiries...about err...lodgings for the night eh wot?", he adds, and paces off toward the limply hanging sign without looking back.

"Well Victor," Ulric says to his old companion, "it looks as if we won't find the farm. Let's see if we can purchase a cart and mule from one of these other farms instead. Maybe a load of vegetables as well to cover our weapons and loot."

Ulric stops and the nearest and friendliest looking farm to begin his inquiries.
