Dorgan will attempt to sidestep the dog and circle around to the stairs. He will never turn his back (or his side, for that matter) to the two-headed beast.

Should it advance on him, he will attack. Axe only, dagger for defense.

It looks very aggressive; its next move likely be to go at someone's throat. Josiane will have barely enough time to throw her entire ration pack, let alone sift out more of the meaty bits. But then again... the dog doesn't look fussy.

It is a minor miracle it didn't go for Dorgan in the first instance!

Assuming that does the trick and distracts it long enough, she will attempt to slip forward, still speaking softly and reassuringly, and slot the pin of its chain back into the central pole. She then beats a retreat back towards Dorgan and the stairs, careful not to turn her back on the hound and keeping her shield ready to defend herself if need be, while still smiling and talking reassuringly to it.

She would so prefer to be friends...

Meanwhile Dorgan makes it to the top of the stair, just in time to see the Snork vanish around a dark corner at the bottom of a steep, narrow stair below him.

Josiane has picked up the dog's chain and finds a 10ft deficit in length! She will have to haul the huge dog back in order to fit the peg into its hole...

Percy and Mads open the tent flap and enter.

What now?

It is wide enough for one abreast. The two-headed dog could certainly fit down... its body is probably much the same size as a Dwarf's.
