What light there is in this room comes entirely through the distraught doorway. There doesn't appear to be any light -- bar that which filters through from this room -- beyond the grubby window.

The window is high enough up the door that Dorgan can only just peer through if he stands on his tip-toes... not a very dignified position. Clearly this warhouse was not built with the Dwarfish folk in mind.

Dwarfs do see well in dim light, but they cannot see in true dark.

Dorgan will approach the door, intending to look through the window. As he gets close enough to realize he won't be able to see anything because it's too high, he'll settle for listening at the door (and pretending that was his original intention the whole time).
