The building at the far end of the cul-de-sac is the one which was singled out by the children. It presents a flat wall of greying timber slats some 30 or 40ft wide, though much of the lower wall is scrawled with innocuous graffiti, or covered with faded and tattered bills.

Half of the wall appears to be a great, 20ft wide barn door, though by the looks of the bills and the piled up garbage it hasn't been opened in a long while. Built into this door is a mantlet -- a normal sized door within the door -- on the far right hand side. This appears to be barred by a brace of chain. Above this door hangs a small wooden plaque and an unlit lantern.

All this can be observed from 60ft away, across the street. To see more detail, the company would have enter the otherwise deserted courtyard...

Josiane strides up to the mantlet and notes that the surrounding mud and garbage is cleared right down to the cobblestones in a path leading directly to the little door. Clearly the warehouse is not quite so "abandoned" as it at first appears.

The chains that bind the mantlet run through a series of steel hoops on either side of the door and are held fast by a serious looking steel lock-box the size of a gauntleted fist.

The wind rustles some of the loose trash, while the murmur of the distant traffic drones on...
