No problem, that is exactly what I am hoping everyone will do.

No need to cut your rope short. I assume Ulric simply untied it when he was done.

Fresh rations will last a day, or two at most. Trail rations can be expected to last for several weeks or more.

So if one of us took the ring and the other the scepter, then we'd BOTH make second level? Cool.

I think that would be a good thing for the party as a whole. I don't think I really need either of them, but I do like the idea of us gaining a level...

What do the rest of you think?

Yes. But you'll lose the same amount of XP if you surrender or lose the magic item. So if you do claim ownership, you had better guard it jealously.
