Is it just my monitor, or are other people having trouble reading what "Albert" has to say, given his rosy-hued speech?

Sorry about that Coffee -- it looks fine for me, so I didn't really think too much about how it might appear to others.

I am using Falconer's "green and yellowish" proboards skin. Perhaps pink text is harder to read in the default skin? In anycase, I shall refrain from using the "pink" colour from now even when the NPCs are really friendly

I went back thru the Return to Ket thread and updated all of Alert's dialog to a darker shade.

How is that looking for you now Coffee?

Can't speak for Coffee, but it is more readable to me, still light, but much more readable than the faded rose.

I'm using the default background, which is an off-white, so dark colors are much more readable than light colors for me.

I'm using the green, also, and on my monitors (at work and at home) it was hard to read.

Much better, now, though. Thanks!

Tombowings; do you intend for Flewellen to simply search through all of the texts in the old archive for a spell? Or do you intend for Flewellen to engage in researching the spell himself?

The former can be completed in one more day, but he may turn up empty handed.

The latter will take a number of days (minimum of 4, but 50% likely to take longer, depending upon a few die rolls) and require 2d6 gold crowns worth of experimental materials per day (1gp = 6sp).

Can this be done faster if both Flewellen and Ulric work together?

This may cross the line of player/character knowledge, but we should discuss what we plan to do with the items we are having appraised.

Clearly the white gold ring and scepter are special items and we should not sell them until we have some way of determining their true properties.

We should offer to sell some of the other items or gems to the merchants to make it worth their time. It would be nice to have a dependable fence or two on hand.

I am considering selling the silver cup and onyx idol for 70 silver.

The plain gold ring and belt now have a value (and are therefore worth xp) but can be worn easily and may have some other value.

As far as the jeweler goes, perhaps we should sell some of the small gems but keep the rest of the items for now.

Of course it our GM decides such discussions must take plain in character, then disregard all of this. ;D

Yeah...IC, Olaf will be tempted to take that 100 weight of gold, but also suspicious than the scepter is something *really* special. It's religious, so I think it needs to be examined by religious types before we even consider selling it.

I think the appraisals on everything Olaf and Ulric have, other than the white gold ring and scepter, comes to about 75 sp. I'm for selling them and keeping the ring and scepter..."to think about it."

I don't know about the belt. If it's just decorative then sell it, but does it have any sort of magical aura?

Speaking of magical aura, can either of our magic users (or anyone we can find in town) do "Detect Magic" type spells? I really think *that* needs to be done on some of these items.

I'd agree with that.

Not at all, this is exactly the kind of OOC discussion was hoping would happen

I think everything has been appraised, so the company is in a good position to divide the loot "fairly".

Flewellen (and Ulric?) have the option of researching a "detect magic type" spell of their own (although this costs time and money), or there is the quicker option of taking the sceptre to the Temple of Thuul.
