The manacle chain is set fast to Koch's left ankle by a bulky lock, and anchored to the wall. The chain rattles as Koch tugs at it, but is held as firmly as ever.

Copernicus knows best indeed, but Kirby? Now there's a dubious fellow if ever Nidhogg met one...
