Let's try listening and opening the door on the right.

You hear some loud, deep voices arguing. You think there are three of them. Complaining about being hungry, and maybe seeing if they can buy food from one of teh wizards with their gold

[Vortimer]

Naillus will ask, "Food? Wizard? At the very least, this might be a chance to pool our information. Do we want to interrupt their argument? I would like to know more about this wizard. He could be a good resource, or an enemy."

[kipper]

The wizards they are referring to are probably Thoth and Ozminster, but there could be others we don't know of.

I wonder why they are talking about buy food from wizards though, it may be that they aren't referring to typical comestibles, could be magic potions or something else odd, maybe even gnomes!

Still, I agree we should perhaps see what information we can get out of them. The fact that they want 'food' could give us a bargaining position.

Franklin agrees, "Rations for information seems like a fair trade. Let's do it!"

Franklin retrieves some delicious turkey jerky from his ration bag. He reaches for the doorknob, then hesitates. He whispers: "Should we barge in, or knock?"

[Vortimer]

"Good question. I am open to either, or do both and ask them if they need food when we do open the door?"

[kipper]

Since we're trying to play nice, I say knock first.

Franklin knocks at the door and says, "Hello? We are looking for directions. We will trade food for information. Anybody home?"

He instructs Balbo and Drogo to casually ready their slings in case the strangers aren't friendly.
