Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

The truly underground sections of the drains are thankfully short. Mostly, they are just cobbled ditches, with the occasional iron grate cover that is so clogged with mud and weeds as to completely conceal a Hobbet crawling along the muddy bottom.

After a while, the commotion seems to quieten down somewhat. From the sounds of it, Tass suspects they are getting organised about dousing the fires. In maybe ten minutes more, he figures, the fire and his smoke screen will be dealt with.

Chancing a peek, Tass sees he has come half way around the back of the cathedral now, and that there are a couple of ruinous outbuildings just over yonder... he crawls along the drain to reach them, and then finally gets out of the muck between two half collapsed walls to have a better look around...

Tass realises he is now on the opposite side of the cathedral to the supply yard. So while most of the men are over there dealing with the fires, he should have a good chance of sneaking across to the Cathedral walls. But how to get in? The door he used last time is all the way around the front, and nearer to all the activity.

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

Tass mentally gives himself a "good job" pat on the back as he plots his next move. He realizes entering the same way as before is out of the question, but the cathedral has a of exterior damage so there is probably another way in. With that in mind he slowly and carefully works his way towards the cathedral making mental notes of places to hide should he be chased or spotted. Once he gets near enough he will pause and look for any likely entrances.

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

Tass scans the high cathedral walls for any sign of a decent collapse as a break-in point.
Unfortunately, most of the damage appears to have been on the other side (prolly why all the scaffolding and work was being done there). Then he has a doh! moment and almost slaps himself. Along the whole length of the cathedral is a series of narrow, almost full height windows. Most of the old stained glass is completely gone now, leaving a dozen or more inviting openings for anyone able to climb 5ft and wriggle through...

Tass smiles as he sees his way in. "I better get in there, Flin probably needs to be rescued by now" he thinks to himself. Tass makes sure to listen carefully before making his move.

Re: (03) Scouting the Ruins

Tass checks there's a clear sky overhead before making his move. That done, he sidles easily up to the cathedral wall--hearing distant shouting of work crews dealing with fires from beyond the main structure. Piece of cake. From there he picks a likely window in the middle section of the wall, grabs the window sill and scampers up into the 3ft wide opening to peer in...

Inside the main cathedral he sees his friends half way down hall and a group of monks at the dais/pulpit area, saying this.
