Maloof is curious as to what else may be behind the tapestry along the south wall (which I assume is the large curtain we need to pass under to enter the room?). Instead of passing under it into the main room, he instead passes between the tapestry and the wall, heading to the east. If nothing is discovered, and if there is further tapestry to the west of the entrance, he will repeat this task but to the west of the entrance instead.

Maloof finds no more secrets on the walls he checks out

Nothing further is found in the south half of the room. Search the north half, or continue east?

Actually, Wiglaff is suspicious of the column in the middle of the north wall, so he'll search it & the wall behind it before we depart.

If Maloof is done his inspection behind the tapestry by this time, he will join Wiglaff's investigation of the northern pillar. Maloof will focus most of his attention on the wall behind the pillar.
