Fearing some last disaster Zem approaches the pots carefully looking for trip wires, pressure plates and or anything suspicious. He would first use the haft of his axe to poke the treasure pots and stir the coins a bit."Can't be too careful now."

After a short rest Freid gets up and joins in the looting.

He pauses and looks at the statues,"You reckon those statues were once men like us?" he shudders.

Freid, too, is looking for rings, potions and wands and such...high value items...that might help with healing/curing us. Beyond that he is looking for light to carry items of great value, gems certainly, then coinage from highest value down.

Karl will do what he can to help, but I fear that isn't much.

Okay folks, can we update our sigs please?

Karl and Leudigar are on ½ hp each, Fried is on 1 hp, Zem is on 2 hp.
Karl lost his helm, so his AC drops by one pip.
Far as I know, Leudigar is carrying a torch, Karl is not.

Karl and Leudigar can participate normally, but not fight until further notice.

Zem wisely checks the way down to the treasure trove--this place has proved wicked dangerous--but he reckons it looks clean. Which is fortunate, since Fried and Leudigar throw all caution to the wind and rush down to riffle through the coins like children in a candy shop! And it is a JOY! Considering the hardships they've endured, Zem can hardly blame 'em.

They soon figure there are literally thousands of coins here; it's gonna take a while to count 'em. "Gold!" cries Zem, succumbing at last to the treasure's allure as he spills scores, nay hundreds of gold dubloons from a pot over the uncountable silver already scattered about.

But Fried doesn't hear him. He's spotted the sparkling jewelry which has been arranged over some of the statues along the back as if they were wearing it. One of them is draped with a coat of glittering mail. There are rings and cups set with gemstones, small chests that are themselves glamorous and piled full with silver and gold. The four are overcome. Yet surely they cannot carry it all...

Okay people, can I please have a count of torches used and remaining?

Also, do you want to spend a few turns sorting/counting/itemising all the loot properly?

Leudigar holds one torch in his hand. He has 5 more torches in his pack. He also has two large sacks and a backpack for hauling things out.

"We should take some time to properly sort through this - at least the jewelry and gems and items of value. Then we can haul out what is the most valuable and portable, like jewelry and rings and..."

His attention is drawn to the glittering coat of mail. He checks to see who it might properly fit.

Freid tries to remain cautious, but is having problems doing so.

"Sacks!" he says, "Take only the most valuable, jewels, rings...are there any potions? We could use some potions of healing or reviving or something like that for our stony comrades."

"Those Medusa had some sort of rings on their fingers, didn't they? Do you think they might bring the petrified back to life? Fried asks the group as he puts a lighted torch in a wall sconce.

Fried had 8 torches and hadn't used any of them. He will light one now and put it in a sconce if there is one on the wall.
So, now he has 7 torches.

Leudigar shrugs, "Not sure. But we can look."

He pulls out both rings and hands one over to Freid. He then examines the first Medusa ring by torchlight, looking for inscriptions or some indication that it might be something other than an ordinary ring.

Then, on an impulse, he puts the ring on.

Oh! He isn't even a hobbet!!!

Fried fires his torch and fits it the wall while Leudigar checks the mail coat hanging over a statue. The good thing about mail is that it's largely one-size-fits all. This coat looks like it will fit any man...

Leudigar then hands Fried a precious looking ring; one of a pair it seems. They are gold with a prominent green gemstone fitted to them. Whatever markings were previously etched into the metal have been worn away by long use. They do look precious; leastwise to a hungry adventurer...

Leudigar slips his ring onto his left hand; its a tad big-ish perhaps, but he fancies he could get away with it.
