In the passageway...
Caine stows his short bow and re-arms himself with two long knives as Dieter works his parrying sword and shield hard to hold the ferocious, deranged foe at bay. Hearing Rodrick's call to retreat, both men back off down the gloomy passage toward the fountain chamber wondering at what bold plan the templar might have. Dieter retreats stoically down the passage, until he unexpectedly lunges forward to puncture the chest of his cadaverous enemy (1d20=10) with his cold steel blade causing (2dd=2,4) 5 hit-points of damage. When Dieter rips his blade back, the shambling corpse collapses before him as it it were never anything but a pile of old bones.

Olaf awaits another opportunity to loose a missle (1d6=1) but he dare not risk slaying Rodrick with an errant shot. In the frantic swiping and dodging Rodrick feints left, then right, and finally strikes directly forward (1d20=16) and smashes his torch unto the foe's moldering skull with such force that it breaks the torch in twain, and delivers (1dd=4) 5 hit points of damage and settles the matter. His opponent crashes heavily to the ground, and does not so much as twitch...
