(Initiative is rolled; Rodrick 1d6=3(-1), Dieter 1d6=3(+1), The Enemy 1d6=3)
Fearing for his life, Olaf falls back hastily, and is covered by bold Rodrick as the burly templar shoves himself between Olaf and the foul, lifeless antagonist.
Dieter steps up the gap vacated by Rodrick and immediately brings his strength to bear (1d20=15) ruthlessly cleaving in a great downward stroke with all his considerable might which strikes sparks from the low ceiling and inflicts a grievous (2dd=4,4) 9 hit-points of damage as it shears the re-animated corpse entirely in two motley halves which are smote back to the earth.
Rodrick thinks of reaching into his pack for his holy water, but such is near impossible in the frantic melee, and with another of the grotesque cadavers now attempting to tear his throat out he thinks better of it, and defends himself with his trusty torch (1d20=3) but he manages to effect naught but glancing blows.
In the relative saftely behind Rodrick, Olaf backs up a half dozen yards, and panting heavily, changes to his trusty short-bow.
Caine, safely behind the indomitable bulk of Dieter, likewise stows his knives and readies a silver arrow upon his arched stick of yew.
Next round eiher of them might risk firing into the furious melee.
At last the two living corpses which still stand find their opportunities to retaliate. One leaps unexpectedly at Rodrick (1d20=9) forcing him to step back to avoid being grappled by a dead Man, and the other (1d20=2) stumbles over the bones of its sundered fellow and cannot get near enough to effectively strike at Dieter.
