Meanwhile, I have just about recovered from the longest flu I can ever remember having. Has taken me four weeks to get (mostly) over it, but I've almost beaten it. Thanks for hanging in there :)
Ways, I'm working my way through "finals season" so I've been sort of busy. Like Coffee, I look first at Fallen Heroes and go "Whew! Not dead yet!" then check Wind and Sand so see how close Olaf has gotten this time. :)

I'll let it sit in place for a month or so and then come back and do a final wax with a microcrystilline paste wax. By that time the gloss should dull down by about 50% and it won't be so "in your face". I'll also bring some photography lights and try and take some better pictures without the overhead florescent lights throwing bad reflections.

Was a lot of fun and I learned a lot, but... I'm glad to have it done. It took up pretty much all of my available shop time for two months and it took up my half of the garage for just as long! Last night I swept up and cleaned a bit and was able to get the car back in.

Love it... The diaginally-opposing curves makes it look awesome. Nice job.

Thanks! If you want an explanation as to why it looks like that, I go over it in one of my blog posts on the table (the last four I've made are about it).

It's a conference table for a local marketing design firm. That is where they'll meet with their clients. Now that they have the table on site, they'll order some quality conference room chairs to go around it. I don't make chairs. ;)

They'll get the best use out of something like that.

Re: Out Of Character

Hey all,

I have a (more-or-less immediate) need to draw up some dungeon maps (e.g., for the Nether World thread).

I could continue to use the ASCII-style mud maps I have used previously, but these are kinda fiddly to do and I'm way short on time. So I thought it might be worthwhile looking for a tool to help out with the maps. Does anyone have any killer tips on a "super easy" dungeon mapping tool? Ideally it would be something that makes sharing maps online easy too, but first up it needs to help me author (basic) maps in a flash.

Re: Out Of Character

A) Make the party map. You've always produced great mud maps but in the spirit of OD&D make 'em do it.

B) If you hand draw maps you can scan the whole page and just crop piece to post. I;ve done that before once you do the scan its trivial.

C) Specific software yet un-named. I've tried a few I usually go back to use the the GIMP. Can't say its easy but it works well once you know how.
