(affects: special, duration: 2-12 turns, range: 12") 2-7 seeing creatures are rendered unconscious by a dazzling glare of clashing colors. Those nearest to the magic-user are always affected first, sheltering those farther back. Heroic-types are allowed a saving throw versus spells to negate the effect and superheroic-types are unaffected.

I think I know the intent of this spell, but the wording could imply that the mage's colleagues would get affected first, as they are closer to the mage than the enemy. Am I reading it wrong?

Hmm, we seem to have lost the word "arc" somewhere along the way. Nice pick up. The intention is that the spell is directional, and only affects targets in an arc forward of the magic-user.

The stat line for color spray might have been clearer as: (affects: 12" arc, duration: 2-12 turns).

I will add this to the errata.
