I'd suggest Josiane receive the larger (1500XP) reward for saving the day down in The Pit. Armando will graciously accept one of the 1200XP rewards

I don't have a problem with Josiane taking the largest one, unless someone has anyone else they'd recommend or who thinks they deserve it. Desmond is currently at level 4/2. If he can get one of the 1200xp shares, then that would give him enough to level to 4/4; otherwise, he ends up about 150xp short.

I would like to propose that the magic ring was returned to Armando after Ulric was done inspecting it, if only because I don't know what's up with Ulric. Perhaps Highbough or Wen can make the best use of it. We never exactly figured out what it does — a ring of elemental summoning perhaps?

Instead of just having someone hold on to the ring, we should get it to the person who will claim it as theirs. I would suggest, if we go with the above distribution, that whoever takes the ring or sword to use should receive one of the smaller shares. And if we were going with a fair magic item distribution, and the options were Wen and Highbough, then the ring should go to Wen, just because Highbough has the potent and formidable Ire Spear. He also has that magical weapon that allows him to Blink 3x/day. BA-dum-dum.

This share distribution decision affects everyone, so people should chime in with their thoughts/ideas - even those in the Ring Party.

I think Josiane has three options:

1. The theraic staff; can somebody remind me of where/if the command words were learned?
2. Slow poison spell from memory; can someone remind me of where/if it was memorised this day?
3. Slow poison spell from her spellbook (which would consume it).

Yikes! Sorry, ways! I thought I responded to your PM immediately I saw it! Can I check if you received my message?

She's got command of the Staff's command words as I understand it. She didn't memorise the Slow Poison spell that morning, but will absolutely sacrifice her spellbook to save her friend's life.

Josiane doesn't think in these terms. If there's a magical item she can use that will benefit the party, she'll happily use it.

But any XP gain from such she'll want to share equally between the company if possible.

Magic items do not come with XP, so the question is, will Josiane sacrifice receiving XP in lieu of receiving a magic item that she can use to the benefit of the party? Or would Josiane be interested in receiving an equal share of Treasure (XP) and handle magic item division separately?

I think the main reason why we generally like to include new players in loot division like this is because they can survive longer the faster we get them to a higher level. So really it benefits the whole party to do that.

I think if she can help others by claiming the item she'll do so and happily sacrifice the XP.

(Thanks for all this number-crunching ehiker! It's very kind of you to do it. You should get the XP bonus for taking it on, I reckon! )

I still remember Dorgan about to get shredded by that zombie in Grumolg's warehouse and Josiane skewering it with her blade. The beginning of a beautiful friendship.
