Er... Sorry, they also have steel cap helms. And 15 DEX. I thought I had AC figured to 3 in the front... Mail (7) + shield (-2) + helm (-1) + DEX (-1)... and then 6 from the back.

Is that not accurate?

Mail (aka "chainmail") is base AC 6.
So, with mail (6), shield (-2), helm (-1), and high dexterity (-1), Desmond/Mondes has a front AC of 2, and a rear AC of 5.

Just one note: At one point, Dieter had a sling. He doesn't use it much, but I don't remember him ever losing it. (If he did, I'll have to buy/make a new one.)
