Ah, but we've left part (a big part?) of the basement unexplored, unfortunately - one door from the main room not even opened and nothing explored down the hallway from the sleeping dwarf, if I recall correctly.

For what it's worth, I still think leaving that place not fully explored was a mistake. Not that I think there is currently anything dangerous down there, but because we don't know what else was left behind.

The thing I like most about WOTE's game, though, is that most of the cool things we find are not at all just standard magical items purloined from some published DM guide. They are wonderful.

I still don't know what caused Mush to pick up the old spear in the Ogre cave, but I'm glad he did. So I try to keep an eye out for such things...

I really, really wanted to finish exploring the basement but I put myself in the shoes of Olaf's character and thought "Man, I'd really be sour if I was thatclose to 4th level and then I got drained" so I voted for clearing the monastery instead.

We'll get back there soon enough, and I bet it will be very helpful to have a full strength Olaf in the mix. Anyone really want to fight another golem, especially if it's armored, without a party at 100%?

For what it's worth, I have no recollection that Highbough ever did pick up any spears, I've just been playing along with it.

?? I was sure I recalled you doing that. When I have a few hours to spare, I'll dig through the posts and try to find it.

That sounds like a dreadful way to spend a few spare hours; let's just say Highbough is a good magician and "conjured" the spear when he needed it most.

When Professor P dropped out of the game, Highbough conjured the spear out of Koch's possession and into his own.

Olaf thanks you. Although, he's too "drained" to be all that concerned one way or the other.

Ah, I must have remembered wrong.

But, fact remains it was a completely innocuous item that did not appear out of the ordinary, even with some examination.

Something to keep in mind.

I shall remain tight-lipped on that.

Although, I do recall Dorgan using the Mountain's Heart to scan the basement for riches...

It may also be worth noting that at least one magic item that was in the company's possession has since been lost to you...
