Roughly 2+ times the height of, and 8+ times the bulk of, a regular fighting-man.

Re: Out Of Character

Ways, can you post a d20 roll for me? I can't decide if Dorgan would consider Gustave a lost cause and abandon the field, or if he would jump down there looking for him. So we'll let the dice decide.

Sure, according to my die 1d20=13. Not sure if that helps or not :D

If Dorgan were an NPC, I would roll a loyalty check to see how he would react. Dorgan is lawful, and Gustave is a friend, so I'd add, say, +2 to the check.

Then 2d6=4! add 2 is 6, so a borderline neutral result, tending toward leaving Gustave behind. I'd say it indicates reluctantly leaving, particularly given that a) the Tar Fiend is looming over him, b) two thirds of the party are already leaving around him, and c) Dorgan doesn't know for sure that Gustave is in trouble--he might assume that Gustave has already escaped.

An updated mud-map would be hugely appreciated!

Re: Out Of Character

Thanks!

Maybe we can attempt to lure the golem off into the woods — perhaps by throwing some flotsam away into the dark?

Re: Out Of Character

I was thinking 75/25 that Dorgan would go after Gustave, adjusted to 60/40 considering the Tar Fiend is a bad-ass and everyone else is leaving.

A 13 is just barely on the side of leaving. Alas, poor Gustave! We hardly knew ye.

This goes against every fiber of his being. Even now, he's thinking "That tar fiend is out of the way! I've got a direct line to the chapel! I can hold my breath, drop 10 feet, run to the chapel, and close the portal all by myself!"

Sully, you're basing all of your actions on the knowledge that you saw Gustave go down into the courtyard, though, and I think Ways' thought was that he did that in the heat of battle, and out of line of sight of most of the other party members, so it isn't an idea of whether or not you would care so little to leave him as much as it is the idea that you don't even know he's down there.

Believe me, it is a hard pill to swallow, even for Desmond/Mondes, with two throats. Gustave is like Desmond's best tall-person friend, with lots of fun jokes about small creatures with two heads.

Re: Out Of Character

He was standing right next to me, though. And I know he wouldn't have run away from the battle. The only logical place for him to have gone is down into the courtyard.

If I knew he was down there, there'd be no debate. Dorgan would be down there looking for him right now. It's only because I didn't actually witness him drop into the courtyard that Dorgan is feeling all this angst about his actions.
