Olaf, then Ulric, Armando, Torben and Rufus (who, due to his short legs, has only just caught up) all cross the rickety bridge one at a time thereafter, while Giant Guntram keeps an eye out behind from his lofty vantage.

The bridge bends and wobbles with each step, but it holds well enough, and soon everyone bar Giant Guntram (who stifles a yawn) has crossed.

"This way!" says Olaf, and leads the company in a single file around the the inside of the burning moat back toward the bell tower...
