Desmond gets busy with sorting through the monster's... possessions.

Mondes keeps a sharp eye out while Desmond sorts through bodies.

Highbough and Josiane put their heads together and try to figure out the layout of the abbey. To get to the moat-area where Highbough believes the others to be, does it make sense to backtrack the way he came, or has Josiane discovered another way around in her travels? Our friends are running retreating from the demon in the abbey, so where would they logically go?

"Say, Josiane, how much do you know about demons? The one we saw was about yay tall, and it had claws like this..." (he gestures with invisible hands) "Can your godly powers... banish it? smite it? exorcise it? And what exactly is the difference between a demon and a daemon, anyway? When I was your age, we spelled them the same way, the letter 'a' not having been invented at the time..." His droning on and on does get tedious, but the sound of his voice helps Josiane pinpoint his location as they prepare to move out.

Josiane finally locates the rambling warlock and attempts to compare notes on the layout of the abbey discovered so far.

O.O.C: Do I have it aright, ways, that the Gustave has entered into our Lonely Abbey thread via the previously barred door with the scary runes? Can our combined information provide us with a bigger mudmap?

Josiane is also attempting to keep at least half-an-eye out for approaching danger while all this mapping and looting is going on...

Down Below
(Wen, Gustave, Desmond/Mondes, Dorgan)

Wen and Desmond/Mondes continue to sift through the awful nest while Gustave looks on dubiously. Meanwhile, Dorgan pulls out the Marrowstone, places it upon his breast an closes his eyes to allow the mountain's heart to reach him. After a moment he senses that it knows there is a worthy lode of silver at about this depth, not 50 yards distant slightly left of his north. When Dorgan opens his eyes he is facing in the necessary direction (not quite directly north) and looking at an implacable stone wall on the other side of the nest.

Meanwhile, Wen and Desmond/Mondes have made what they can of the search (and both are thoroughly grubby because of it). They've identified a dozen horrible skulls/heads -- which presumably once belonged to the nuns here abouts. And from the foul detritus they have also extracted a small assortment of religious curios; rosary beads, a tiny Enigma on a bracelet, a walking staff topped with an Enigma, a censor, two more tiny daggers, two broach pins, a small prayer book, a pouch of dry tea, and half a dozen soft purses that, combined, contain a total of 56 silver coins.

It is a grisly haul indeed.

Up Top
(Dieter, Josiane, Highbough)

Dieter keeps a watch while Josiane and Highbough discuss the layout of the abbey. It seems clear to Josiane that Highbough and Gustave must have entered the passage from beyond the beruned door. The very door that the black-robed priests used to cover their retreat.

This is a rough overview of what they know between them (not exactly to scale):

The dwarf will look at the treasure the others have gathered.

"Some a' that might be valuable to the nuns. Least it'll prove we actually came here and did what we said we'd do."

Desmond nods and says, "Aye, let's pack the lot of it up and sort it out later... So you think there is something behind that wall, Dorgan? Wen... Can you pack this?"

Desmond moves over to the wall and begins a detailed examination of it, looking for any indication of a secret passage or opening. Both heads actively search.
