Desmond looks at Josiane and shrugs. "Beats me! Maybe... maybe it was Wiberts?"waysoftheearth wrote:I believe one of the Halflings is responsible for Murphy the mule...doctorx wrote:"And... is that your mule?" Josiane asks the butler, noticing the contented animal grazing calmly without.
Desmond agrees to go with Gustave to the armourer and to pick up a sling while he is there. Then, once the order has been completed, he'll follow Gustave to meet up with his 'coin dealer' and see about unloading all of the coins in exchange for local money.tonneau wrote:"I may have a contact or two, of whom I could make some discrete enquiries...", says Gustave on the subject of various coins.
"Perhaps we can join our individual quests for mutual synergy, my dear...and...slightly larger?...two headed hobbit?" he adds, eying Desmond/Mondes curiously. Deciding all is well, he continues, "I will seek out my good friend the blacksmith, with the ill news that his last superbly crafted bastion is no more, and ask of him another - shield that is."
"I think a small detour en-route may see us in a position to do something with these...coins."
Mondes gives a wicked grin, "Yeah, I bought him while Noggin' here was passed out,"ehiker133 wrote: Desmond looks at Josiane and shrugs. "Beats me! Maybe... maybe it was Wiberts?"
ehiker133 wrote:Desmond is PROBABLY going to steer clear of hiring any henchmen or hirelings at the present time.
But he would be willing to chip in for others to procure hired hands, or maybe help pay for a mule or some such thing...

On the seventh day, Desmond/Mondes (adorned in his great hooded cloak) goes shopping for a mule at the market, and before lunch he has found just the animal. A fair tempered and stout little beast called Murphy, purchased for 16 silver shillings.
