Vesh wanders over to the locked door to study it more closely in better light of his torch. He lays his staff against the wall after a second. He then begins to the check out the door, looking at its construction, to see what it is made of and what its condition (is it made of wood or metal, if wood is it warping or rotting, if it is metal is it rusted is? Are there any gaps between the door & the frame? Is it elaborately carved or plain? How the lock looks? How is it affixed to the door or is built into it?
I'll assume Gorthaur didn't give you a key to his dungeon & you didn't find it along the way. So has anyone checked for traps? I do not want to mess with the door until that is ascertained - that is all I need a poisoned needle sticking me or acid or poison mist shooting at me. Also does anyone have any skill in lock picking? <muttering to self: I might look into learning such a skill, it seems to be useful in cases like this>.
