Re: (082) The Darkness Below

When that does nothing, Leudigar goes back to sorting the treasure.

He votes they take the time to sort through it, at least the gold and jewelry and gems and any items that might be of value, before heading out and beating a hasty retreat to the surface.

Karl will volunteer to hold another torch, but he doesn't have any of his own.

Re: (082) The Darkness Below

Freid will put on the ring and walk over to Akbar running his hand over the stone statue. Does that do anything?
I've already lighted a torch and put it in a wall sconce, if there is one. If not he'll hand it to Karl to hold. I've also changed my sheet from 8/8 to 7/8 for torches. As an aside, it's a terrible thing that Freid started with more torches and more days of meals than HP. :)

Re: (082) The Darkness Below

I think an extra torch wouldn't hurt; the one in the sconce and Karl holding another. That way we have general light and also specific light for counting, etc.

Zem removes three torches from his pack and passes them to Karl."I would rather carry gold then torches, light these up and let's see that glittering gold."

"Don't waste the torches," Leudigar cautions."We still have to get out of here."

Re: (082) The Darkness Below

Zem gives Karl three torches while Fried strides past the statuesque form of Zax, up the tiered embankment, and thru the ruins beneath the great arch (where he is out of everyone else's sight!) to locate Akbar's petrified remains. Alas, passing the medusa ring over the cool figure does naught to rouse his former companion...

Meanwhile, Leudigar makes a start on sorting out the most precious-looking objects from the hoard. There are two long and gem encrusted necklaces draped over statue necks, either of which must be worth a dazzling amount--or at least, a good deal more than the ranger has ever possessed. Next, there are a dozen other silver and gold objects featuring gem stones in their craft; cups, plates, the two medusa rings, brackets, a candle snuffer and so on. There is also the coat of shiny mail, and then there are some hundreds of gold coins and some thousands of silver coins spilling out of their clay pots... it will take a while to sort and count them fully...
Zem and Karl, please adjust the torches on your sheets.

Re: (082) The Darkness Below

Leudigar removes his iron piton and bedroll from his backpack and adds sixteen pounds worth of jewelry and items to it. He takes his two large sacks and stuffs one with as much of the remaining jewelry and items (cups, plates, brackets, candle snuffer, etc.) as it can hold. If the large sack can hold more, he fills it to (usable) capacity with gold coins. He fills the other sack with gold coins, either until it is full or until there are no more, in which case he then begins with silver coins.

"No use in counting it now; just grab the most valuable things in the highest order. Someone might need to carry one or both of these sacks, depending on how fast we want to move. If anyone else has any sacks, pull them out and start filling them up. We will hide the rest if possible. Manfreid, you have the worst armour of the lot of us; you wear the shining mail out. We can figure out division of it all later. Let's move."

Leudigar drops:
- iron piton
- bedroll

Leudigar takes:
- jewelry and items (in backpack)
- remaining items (in large sack)
- gold coins (in large sack(s))
- silver coins if there is any room left in the sacks
