Re: Delve the Fourth

Since he doesn't have a 10' pole, Rhod will take his unstrung short bow and use it to probe ahead of him as he enters. He won't step anywhere he hasn't already confirmed there is a floor. (Sword is sheathed; if a fight breaks out, it'll be quicker to draw his dagger.)

He'll proceed to the left of the doorway, attempting to work his way around the room and thus gauge its dimensions. He'll also check to make sure the wall is still there.

His short bow encounters the straw that had been tossed in, he just can not see the straw. He manages a complete circuit of the room. It is 30 feet wide by 20 feet tall, centered on the door. There are no apparent exits. He feels peaceful while in the room, in a state of calm, and feels like he is floating in the depths of outer space, even though he is walking solidly on the ground

"Fascinating" remarks Golgildir, and when there is space, he enters the room and looks slowly all around for any start that might stand out particularly among the field.

After that, he tries closing his eyes and meditating for a moment...

Kythaela also remains in the passageway and maintains a watchful posture. There is something very disquieting about this room.

Nothing stands out. Once he starts meditating, he finds it exceedingly restful. He hypothesizes that an hour meditating in this room would be the equivalent of a good night's sleep

"Where to from here?" Golgildir asks.

"Make a special note of this room on the map," Rhod says. "We might want to come back here."

Catweazle votes for the next door along, on the south wall. Of course, he says it's on the right. ;)
