After Kiplyn kills the creature the Dame is holding, shall we head for level 3 (area 14 on the map), or continue exploring level 1 (tunnels south of area 10 or 12)? If the majority of the level 1 characters are happy with heading to Level 3, then that is what Dame Simonetta would prefer, however she will not propose putting their lives in danger without their full consent!

Kiplyn dispatches the Vilstrak and the party moves on.

Upon reaching the top of the slope, the party discovers that the Xvart bodies are gone.

OOC: You may remember from past Adventuers that the area south of 10/12 is a nest of hundreds if not thousands of ordinary-sized rats. They are no threat individually, but if they swarmed over you, they could nibble you to death!

(I restored my backup with the maps, so I will post an updated Lvl 1 map shortly, and the Lvl 3 map is ready when you are.)

Welcome to Dungeon Level 3!

The party moves to area 14 of dungeon level 1 and then crosses west into level 3.

The party then enters area 1 of dungeon level 3 from the east. The only other exit is a tunnel to the north. The cave is roughly 20x30 with a high ceiling. There are a dozen 3' long pointy-looking stalactites hanging down from the ceiling. This is a bit unusual because there are no matching stalagmites on the floor. (Usually where you find one, you would expect to find the other.)

Dame Simonetta eyes the stalactites warily. She begins to move across the room, keeping to the eastern side and watching upwards so that she does not step beneath any of them.

Kiplyn also would be very cautious slowing down to look for tripwires or signs of traps. He would avoid passing under stalagmites and stay near the wall when possible.

(Kiplyn detect traps check = 5, success)

With his keen eye for traps, Kiplyn notices that the stalactites seem to be "tracking" Dame Simonetta. As the Dame prepares to cross the eastern edge of the cave, the stalactites move ever so slightly, so that their tips are pointed right at her.
