Dougal readies another stone and likewise moves north, staying close to the wall and looking up as often as he looks forward and behind.

Robur on the ready with another stone follows the crew.

The north wall of the cave is a maze of 3' round tunnels. The rough, irregular tunnels were crudely made by hands or claws, not by a miner's pick or shovel.

The spiders abandoned their prey at the spot marked * as they fled to the west. The silk cocoon outlines a shaggy white quadraped, the size of a bear. The creature is snoring in a deep hibernation (next to the two dead spiders).

Kiplyn looks at the bound creature... "Might be a job for you Druids, I don't think we should leave the poor thing like that, but I also don't want to be ate"

"Why don't we open the webbing just a little to see what it is?" says Robur.

OOC: As I understand it, the party moved north, hugging the eastern wall? That would put you at the northeast corner of the cave, about 40' from the dead spiders and their interrupted meal. The cocooned creature is at the edge of lantern light; to get a closer look, you would have to move southwest, passing a half-dozen unexplored tunnels in the north wall. (Also you would be moving in the direction the spiders went.) Will the whole party move southwest in formation, or does one brave Hobbet want to take a lantern/torch and scout ahead? Or, investigate the side tunnels first?

"Safety in numbers, right? Whatever we decide to do, let's all do it," Dougal whispers to the others as they stare at the furry bundle.

"We can't leave it to those scary spiders. I sure wouldn't want to be left..."

Kiplyn nods in agreement and quilt starts moving that way with his sling ready....

"I do not mind looking it over with Bilfur and Robur, as long as there are slings looking down that hall," Noh says, and Carc quietly squawks agreement.
