Franklin pings a sling stone right through the mage's eye, and he drops down dead
Franklin rolls 20, does <1d6>=6 damage, killing the mage

They are sleeping, but not easily. They toss and turn and mumble a bit. The party should be able to spend some time waking up and recovering the sleepers

The Hold Person did not cast as the mage is dead. His ring detects magic

After being filled in, he will snoop around the orc room, to see if he can determine what they were up to and if there are any other exits, etc.
