Re: Delve the Thirteenth

"We shall certainly keep you in mind if we find another," Maloof replies. "Is there any particular way we can distinguish one from another variety of magical orb? And if I may press, what is the function of the stone pedestal just outside your room there?"

"Well,I think these are more egg-shaped, but I would look at any orbs you procure. That gem outside is just to give me peace and quiet. Only within 10 feet of the door does sound become audible. And of course this orb gives me ESP, so nobody can sneak up on me or fool me"

Re: Delve the Thirteenth

Unless anyone else has anything to add, let's leave and try the door in the east wall of the silenced room.

Re: Delve the Thirteenth

| I am going to slightly modify the map to make it align at least a little better with your current player map |

The door opens onto an octagonal room. The four diagonal sections are each two diagonal lines long (28 feet for you Pythagoreans), while the four cardinal point walls are 10 feet each, each with a door.. On the SE diagonal wall is a 4' long beetle. My dice say you are both surprised, so that cancels each other out :)

"We can probably just feed it," Aldbane says, pointing at the beetle. He throws some rations towards it to see if it will be distracted, and we can continue through one of the doors.

The beetle makes a beetle-line towards the food and starts eating

Re: Delve the Thirteenth

Do we really want to leave this beetle at our back? We could slay it now while it's distracted, that's my vote!

If we decide to slip past, which door though? The south door most likely (eventually) links up to an area we've been before, whereas the east and north lead to new areas.

Aldbane would probably stand back if the other party members wanted to attack the beetle, since it's not really evil or a current threat. But he wouldn't interfere.

I'd vote for exploring new areas.

Yes, but this is room is a hub and we may want to return here multiple times.
